Belcher Branch Lake is a 55-acre lake located in the southern part of Buchanan County. Belcher Branch hosts abundant habitat in the form of submerged brush piles, rocky points, weedlines, and standing timber that are all available to suit different fishing presentations. The ample stands of vegetation in the lake promotes a good largemouth bass population with good size and numbers. The majority of the bass in the lake will run in the 12-15" range with a few individuals reaching 20+". The lake receives heavy fishing pressure so downsizing lures or slow presentations may help entice a bite. The lake hosts good populations of both Black and White Crappie. Fishing should be good off the newly installed brush piles located in front of both handicap accessible fishing docks and in the standing timber. Channel Catfish angling should continue to be excellent. Fish average 12"-24" and can be found off the rock shoreline in the spring and early summer evenings.
