Grindstone Reservoir is the largest of the four reservoirs just west of Cameron, MO. A large watershed causes water levels and water clarity to fluctuate after rainy periods and fishing success can be slow until lake settles out. Channel catfish may be caught despite unsettled conditions with good catch rates for fish from 15-23”. Once the lake does clear, crappie fishing can be good for 7-9” fish, and a few from 11-15”. While there are fewer largemouth bass in Grindstone Reservoir than in many surrounding lakes, sizes for fish caught are excellent with most fish ranging from 12-20” and several in the 18-22" range.
