The best fishing opportunities on this stream are from Arrow-Wood Conservation Area, north of Shelbina (Shelby County), to its confluence with Mark Twain Lake (Monroe County). Moundview Access is undeveloped and offers limited access at this time. Hunnewell Access has a concrete boat ramp. All listed "best bet" species are good throughout the reach. Smallmouth bass are common, but few fish will exceed 12 inches. Flathead catfish, white bass, and walleye will be more prevalent in the lower reaches. White bass and walleye will be more common during early spawning runs. This stream is best accessed by canoe, kayak, or small boat and should be fully floatable through early July.
